During the challenging one-year MBA program you will not only acquire knowledge in the vast world of management, logistics, finance, supply chains, marketing, transport and so on; but you may also have lunch with your fellow-students from Africa, visit a museum with your Asian colleagues, learn to dance with LatinAmerican partners, visit a pub with your European neighbors, and discuss the international law of transportation management with all of them during an interactive lecture.

Hamburg

Hamburg, a 1,200 year old city full of culture, tradition, technology, entertainment and nature. The city's stunning location on the Elbe river and Alster lake, the impressive beauty of St Michael’s Church and the Reeperbahn, one of Europe’s most famous entertainment and red light districts, are just some examples of the amazing things that Hamburg has to offer.

Hamburg is loved both for its contemporary scene and for its cultural offerings. In between traditional trading houses and renowned theatres, the latest trends are always cropping up. Hamburg is a green city, its large and small parks offer plenty of opportunities for your spare time. You can row or sail on the city-center Alster lake or just walk around the beautiful Japanese garden. During the evening, you will have an enormous range of theatres, musicals, pubs and nightclubs from which to choose.

Hamburg serves as an important logistics node in Europe: It is the second-largest port in Europe and ninth largest in the world, handles ½ of overland freight traffic in Germany, and is the third largest center in the world for the civil aviation industry – all being activities that provide enormous growth opportunities. As a major logistics city, Hamburg’s economy traditionally focuses on trade and business. It is a city with modern industries and is Germany’s media centre.

Your student life at Kühne School starts with getting to know your exciting and inspiring environment.

Kühne School is located on the modern campus of Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), in the Harburg borough on the south bank of the river Elbe. Among other facilities the TUHH campus offers modern and superbly equipped lecture theaters, for instance with LAN (Local Area Network) ports in every classroom. A complete library with extensive collections and access to all northern German libraries.

Computer pools with wireless LAN, laser and color printers, and you have the right to use up to 100 MB FTP (File Transfer Protocol) space, allowing you to work and save your work on the intranet while working from any computer.

Hamburg’s city center is within 20-minute reach by public transportation, the cost of which is included in your student ticket.

A window on the world

With one out of five students coming from foreign countries, the campus of TUHH has an international atmosphere that is very much appreciated by its students. This multicultural environment gives students the opportunity to learn about different cultures and have an open mind on new ideas and different ways of thinking that is very useful throughout their studies.

Seeing itself as a global player, Kühne School is also trying to further increase the number of international students and guest lecturers. The TUHH’s Student Union (AStA) arranges various leisure activities in sports and entertainment. Annual highlights include the get-together event: students coming from different countries get together on campus, presenting the culture and traditions of their home country, serving special food and drinks and performing their native songs and dances, there are even sports competitions. This event is very popular among students and staff.
